After Dumb Deal Trump had a phone and twitter tantrum about the 1,250 refugees he has got to allow into the USA under a deal former President Obama made with PM Turnbull …
I wondered. What was the problem?
Is the USA running out of space?
Is Trump running out of spare rooms?
So I had a look at what I could find out about his Trump Tower. I was simply wondering how many apartments it consist of. Not that I expect the 1,250 already highly unwelcome refugees to end up sharing the building with its best known owner, or his wife.
I’ll admit it: for a fast look, I did not use 100% trustworthy sources. Nevertheless, Wiki came up with something interesting: “… In 2015, journalist David Cay Johnston questioned the particular use of concrete and suggested there was a connection with organized crime. Johnston stated that a 1992 book by journalist Wayne Barrett had also come to similar conclusions: “Trump didn’t just do business with mobbed-up concrete companies: he also probably met personally with [Anthony] Salerno at the townhouse of notorious New York fixer Roy Cohn … at a time when other developers in New York were pleading with the FBI to free them of mob control of the concrete business.” … that concrete was one of “several dozen” suspected mob connections that Trump had. ”
Oh dear. Would one want to live in a building where the skeletons may not be dropping out of the closets and/or cupboards, but may remain firmly hidden in the concrete?
It seems plenty people currently owning a home in the Trump Tower or other buildings linked to the Dumb Deal, are actually embarrassed. Not about the concrete and its possible uses, but about the name and link. Poor dears.
All of which is of course is not helping the 1,250 refugees, nor the people currently banned from entering the USA, despite having been vetted for a minimum of two years and being in possession of all the right legal documents and permission the immigrate. Trump shamelessly continuous to treat all these people like an unwanted mob.
