Great day at the White House

Trump tweeted “Great day at the White House“, after Scaramucci was dismissed. Yet the fish rotting from the head down, continuous to rot. With Scaramucci out, the smell of this government has not changed from foul, to a bouquet of white lilies.

For the quick removal of the communications director does not improve the image of this White House. On the contrary.

Some media report Ivanka and Jared were behind the move in, followed by the move out. Others speculate Kelly though hand-in-glove with Bannon, caused Scaramucci’s exit. It remains difficult to see what is going on in this House of Groans.

Sean Spicer did not approve of Scaramucci. He resigned as press secretary the moment Scaramucci was in, but promised to remain to ensure a “smooth hand-over”. According to some journalists, Spicer may actually have helped write the statement announcing Scaramucci’s removal. A bit of sweet revenge then.

Meanwhile, media had to change their short biopsies into a near-obituary. Seems Scaramucci’s old university even went a step too far and had declared him dead.

The UK Guardian put together a timeline; in nearly 10 quotes. They headed their timeline “gone in 864,000 second”:

  • July 21, 2017: “I think it’s super important for us to let the president express his personality”;
  • July 22, 2017: “Full transparency: I’m deleting old tweets”;
  • July 23, 2017: We’re strong as our weakest leak”;
  • July 24, 2017: “A great night in West Virginia”;
  • July 25, 2017:“If the leaks continue, then I’ve got to let everybody go”;
  • July 26, 2017:“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying …”;
  • July 27, 2017: “I sometimes use colorful language”;
  • July 28, 2017: “Leave civilians out of this”;
  • July 31, 2017: “Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House communications director”

The last quote the Guardian lists, obviously not (or was it) by the man himself.

The Guardian also had some information which might have warned Trump, Ivanka, Jared, whoever promoted Scaramucci into the White House: “Before the presidential campaign of 2012, Scaramucci expressed early support for Hillary Clinton. … Before he joined the Trump campaign, Scaramucci called Trump ‘anti-American’ and ‘another hack politician’.

Which makes one wonder what Scaramucci was after? Just a job at A White House Admin? Any White House admin? Or are his loyalty, his love, his admiration, his respect so easily changed from one person to the next?

One might presume, his life is a total shambles: out of a job, out of a wife, out of the house where she resides, likely no access to the kids right now. Nevertheless, something was accidentally salvaged from the wreckage.

The proposed sale of Scaramucci’s company SkyBridge Capital, worth $250m,  was waiting for a government review. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, an agency charged with evaluating impacts on America’s national security by sales of US businesses, had not yet given a green light.

Meanwhile, Trump witlessly crows life has never been better for America. No, there is no chaos in the White House. More jobs are created, for the teams of Trump and Kushner lawyers continuou to increase. He can lean back, waiting for Obama-care to implode while blaming this on his own party and the Democrats.

Only fly in Trump’s ointment: the Russia probe. It seems to be the only thing refusing to be derailed. In the background, it trundles along at a steady pace to an inevitable conclusion.
